Seaford Head School celebrating “Transition Week” for local Primary Schools and the establishment of the Seaford Learning Trust
Year 6 children from across Seaford have been visiting Seaford Head School for their first week of secondary school. It is a well-established tradition for Year 6 children to spend a full week in July in school so that they make the best possible start in September.
Miss El-Hawary, a parent of a child in Year 6 at Chyngton Primary School, commented “The staff all go above and beyond for the children at Seaford Head School and after my son’s experience, who is now about to study Law at University, I cannot wait for my daughter to journey through the school.”
Seaford Head School is also celebrating the creation of the Seaford Learning Trust which will see the formalisation of the partnership between Seaford Head and Chyngton Primary School. Amy Clarke, the Co-Head teacher at Chyngton, commented “This transition week highlights the benefits of secondary schools working in partnership with their local primary schools. In the months ahead colleagues from the two schools will be working together to develop an all-through educational experience for our children that ensures they are happy and high achieving. It’s also great for our children’s parents to know that their progression into an outstanding secondary school is secure”. Chyngton Primary School was recently celebrating an extremely positive Ofsted report that highlighted that their pupils are really happy and proud of their school.
The Seaford Learning Trust will be formally established early in Term 1 of the new academic year and a joint training event for staff will allow for the all-through curriculum to be further developed. These are extremely exciting times for the children and staff at these the two Seaford schools.
